Where to celebrate your wedding

For something more unique, why not get married on the water? The Maid of the Mist is the local boat tour that will take passengers to the base of the falls for a loud and thunderous experience. They allow weddings directly on board, but you’ll have to do all the planning yourself, and that includes having an officiant to legally perform the ceremony for you.
And don’t forget that Niagara is a premier wine country. There are many vineyards that would make a picturesque setting, with acres of rolling hills and rows of fruitful vines. No matter where you choose to have your Niagara Falls wedding, remember that you need a marriage license issued by the Province of Ontario before you can have your wedding. There are flower shops and chapels all over the city, so you shouldn’t have a problem arranging all the details.
The honeymoon
And after the wedding is over, you can also plan a hands-on honeymoon in Niagara Falls. They don’t call it the “honeymoon capital of North America” for nothing. Historically, one of the first newlyweds to come to Niagara was Jerome Bonaparte and his new wife in 1803. That’s Napoleon Bonaparte’s younger brother, if you notice the name.
Regardless of the honeymoon activities you choose, do your best to plan ahead and make reservations whenever you can to avoid disappointment. Niagara is a very busy tourist destination and many places can be booked up quickly.
Some possible activities would include a romantic walk across the Rainbow Bridge, a ride on the Maid of the Mist, a show at the Niagara Grand Dinner Theater and a round of slots or blackjack at the Casino. There are also numerous clubs, theater shows, dances, and gourmet restaurants to try. For something a little different, enjoy some fun along Clifton Hill. This is a loud and colorful street not far from the falls. There are old-fashioned arcades, creepy funhouses, movie theaters (including an IMAX), coffee shops, and Ripley’s Believe it or Not museum. Everyone should have a good laugh on their honeymoon.
There’s a 30-mile stretch between Niagara on the Lake and Fort Erie that boasts some of the most beautiful scenery in the country. Apparently, even Winston Churchill once remarked that this route is the most beautiful in the world. At some point during your honeymoon, plan to enjoy a leisurely stroll down Niagara Parkway.
