The capital of England, London, is one of the most visited destinations in the world. 27 million tourists stay in London every year. Sure they can’t all be wrong?

Quaint, beautiful, and peaceful describes a city that never sleeps, has world-famous nightlife, and has activities, venues, and restaurants for one and all.

Divided into 33 boroughs and individual boroughs, the City of London, although the smallest, is the borough with the most tourist destinations and one of the three largest financial centers in the world.

With five major airports, several train stations and direct links to the UK motorway system, getting to London is easy, often cheap and accessible to all. Once in London, getting around is exciting and interesting as well as efficient and well organised. The preferred method of transport when in London is the London Underground, the oldest, longest and longest tube system in the world. Closely followed by a bus service and London taxis, getting from A to B and all points in between is easy.

Staying in London can be as profitable or extravagant as it takes. Budget hotels and self-catering apartments are available on every corner, even in central London, while hotels in London are the most popular accommodation option among tourists.

Without a doubt, unless your stay in London lasts several weeks, the return trip is essential. There is so much to see and do that it is impossible to fit it all into one short break.

For those who love shopping, Oxford Street should be at the top of your list. A strip of shops that runs for almost a mile, it is London’s busiest shopping area and boasts a mix of major store names and designer names with several department stores. If your shopping budget is a bit more flexible, adjoining Bond Street is lined with designer fashion and accessory shops and is home to several runway designers including Vivienne Westwood and Jimmy Choo.

Home to more museums and art galleries than one could wish for in such a concentrated area, the Natural History Museum and the Science Museum are just two of many that are recommended for all tourists.

With EMI and Decca Records both headquartered in London, London is expected to offer a variety of music venues, and it doesn’t disappoint. From massive stadiums like Earls Court and Wembley Arena, to more intimate venues like the London Hammersmith Apollo and Brixton Academy, every genre of music is on offer.

London is visited by tourists from all over the world and this is reflected in the variety of restaurants on offer. From Bangladeshi to Chinese to Caribbean to Greek, the food is second to none and you’re sure to find something on a menu you’ve never heard of or even tried before.

Whether it’s your first visit to London, your second, or your tenth, you’re guaranteed to find something you’ve never seen, a place you’ve never been, or something you’ve never eaten before.
