Many cricket records have been set over the years. These are just a few.

1. Vivian Richards set a record of five wickets and 100 runs in the same match at a One Day International. Richards was the only player to take 5 wickets in a one-day innings and score a hundred. This was achieved against New Zealand at Dunedin in 1886/87. He took 5/41.

2. Wasim Akram and Saqlain Mushtaq of Pakistan set another record for two-time Hat-Trick in a One Day International, the only two bowlers to achieve a hat-trick twice.

3. Mohd Azharuddin holds a record for ODIs played, having played in 334 matches and holding the record for the most receptions. He has chased 156 catches in his career; he is considered a brilliant fielder.

4. Another record not to be overlooked is the record set for the most centuries in an ODI which is held by Sachin Tendulkar recording a staggering 34 centuries.

5. The record for the cheapest bowling figures in an ODI belongs to the West Indies opener surpasses Phil Simmons. He holds the record for the cheapest bowling figures against Pakistan in Sydney, where he posted figures of 10-8-3-4.

6. The record for the highest wicket spinner in an ODI belongs to Anil Kumble of the Indies, who holds the record for 274 wickets.
