God’s timing is always right. Things will happen at the right time. And yes, it doesn’t always feel that way. When we are in serious trouble, often we cannot see any solution. We pray like crazy, but it feels like God isn’t listening and we are left with a lot of unanswered questions.

But I know that God’s timing is always right. Like the time Jesus’ message of redemption came to the world: 3And then, when the time was right, he went public with his truth.

God always comes into our lives at the right time too. Like Annatjie’s story:
Hello Gerjo Ben

A year ago I lost my job and I thought it was God’s way of telling me, “Do your thing, you’ve always wanted to.” And I did, I started doing my thing. It was a struggle and eventually all the extra money that I found somewhere and what my mom gave me ran out.

At the end of July this year I had R200 (more or less) in the bank, my rent was three months behind and my car payment too. I studied the Bible every morning and finally told the Lord that he thought he had stopped believing because nothing was going right. It wasn’t like I was sitting on my butt waiting for work to come running my way.

Last Wednesday it rained well here in Piketberg and I was doing the work that I had to do (my business was doing essential administrative work for small and micro businesses). I still had a job, but not everyone could pay (my intention was to help even if no one could pay).

Then my phone line and two farmers on the mountain asked me to come see them. I’ve already sent these guys three quotes and thought I’d never work for them.

I went out to see them and the end result was that I had to start working for both of them that Monday. The result was approximately 30 hours of work per week for these two farmers. They didn’t even question my rate or anything else.

These contracts now mean that I will have enough money to meet all my obligations and leave me enough time to help my other clients as well as those who cannot pay.

Just when I thought I was alone, that the Lord was not going to help me the way I wanted to be helped, and that I had misunderstood God again. Because, really, if one person can misunderstand me, it’s me!

A common story and all too familiar to people in the business world. But I don’t know how God does it, He always comes at the perfect and right time. He helped Annatjie with both contracts at just the right time.

God will appear for each of us at the right time. It may not be exactly what we ask for, but God will come up with the best plan for us.

Holy Scripture
Titus 1:1-4

Reflection
What do you fight?
How is God’s time?
What do you have to do differently?

Prayer
Lord, I don’t always have the patience to accept your time. Please help me trust You with everything that happens in my life. Amen.
