Durban is known as the playground of South Africa because it is a vibrant city with a lot of eclectic culture in terms of food, tourism, and local festivals. It is also an extremely cosmopolitan city. There are several sports stadiums and all the major sporting events in South Africa are held in this beautiful and lively city.

There are places like Marine World, casinos, flea markets and shopping centers that are strong attractions for visitors. People from America, England, or France won’t find it much different here, but you can be sure that all places have modern conveniences.

The real way to explore Durban is by taking the train to visit the City Hall and museum. Durban, being a cosmopolitan city, has all kinds of people from various religious backgrounds. The magnificent Jumma Masjid and the Victoria Church are also tourist attractions.

The most attractive attraction in Durban is the waterfront and it is called the Golden Mile. The sands of the sea look like gold in the bright sun and that is why it is called by its name. It is about 6 kilometers long and you will find the whole multitude of vacationers on this stretch alone. Here all kinds of activities are carried out such as swimming, fishing, water skiing and surfing. You will also find a large concentration of artists such as cartoonists, caricaturists and face painters on the beach waiting for you to participate in something.

In general, Durban offers different types of entertainment throughout South Africa, which is common to the rest of the world, but still manages to radiate a unique atmosphere and emotion.
