“Covert Hypnosis gives you the scientific breakthrough and ultimate power to covertly control minds, change behaviors and hypnotically make anyone eager to fulfill your every wish…without them knowing!” Says Kevin Hogan’s sales pitch for this book.

Does he manage to do this in this book?

I’ve been a fan of Kevin’s work for a long time and this book is more of a fantasy, real world stuff that will make a difference in your sales (and your life).

Now Kevin has discussed a lot of this before in his books, but he seems completely up to date, so if you haven’t read all of his previous books, this is the one to get.

The book has an index that speaks for itself:
Introduction
Chapter One: Trance Action
Chapter Two: Going Deeper
Chapter Three: Even deeper into them and you
Chapter Four: Evolution of Hypnosis
Chapter Five: Covert Hypnosis
Chapter Six: Manipulating What They Don’t Notice
Chapter Seven: Covert Hypnosis Using History
Chapter Eight: The Ultimate Covert Hypnosis
Chapter Nine: The Covert Model for Changing Minds
Chapter Ten: The 16 Human Desires
Chapter Eleven: Introduction to Body Language Mastery
Chapter Twelve: The Psychology of Covert Hypnosis
Chapter Thirteen: Secret Ingredients of Covert Hypnosis
Chapter Fourteen: Know in advance what they will do
Chapter Fifteen: Software of the Mind
Chapter Sixteen: Psychobiology of Covert Hypnosis
Chapter Seventeen: Powerful Covert Hypnosis Strategies.

The first few chapters are designed to introduce the reader to what hypnosis really is. It debunks some of the myths about it and ensures that the reader can really benefit from the chapters that follow. The book then begins to give you some real “gems” that, with a simple application, will make you a better communicator and therefore a better influencer.

I find the ad to be honest in its claims and have had a lot of personal success using the techniques and ideas it contains.

Particularly helpful in this book is the section on The 16 Drivers which asks you to identify what your own drivers are and what other people potentially think of you. I can’t begin to tell you how powerful this is. I also enjoyed the notion about genes and suggest you read that to really understand how people are motivated to protect their genes, not necessarily themselves! (The genes may already be living in your children.)

The book promises to teach you how to gain control of almost any social situation, increase sales, get the pay raise you want, manage for maximum compliance, get the best deal on anything you buy, get a deal fast on relationships and make anyone do just about anything you want them to do. I think Kevin manages to pull this off admirably.

I wholeheartedly recommend this book as long as you haven’t bought Kevin’s other titles. I give the book a 4.5 out of 5.
