What a great way to spruce up any room. Hand painted borders and sprays can really do the job very well. They are easy to make and can be done relatively cheaply. You don’t have to completely surround the top, middle, or bottom of a room like you would with a paper border. Painting its border gives you more flexibility to be creative and allows you to simply add it in special places around the room.

I use the folk art glazes for my hand painted wall borders, sprays and murals. I realize this paint is supposed to be used for glass and ceramics, however I use it on almost everything I paint. Cures in 21 days if not baked. It is highly durable and produces a beautiful completed project no matter what surface you are using it on. It can also be placed on your surface with any tool you want to use. You are not limited to using a brush.

If you want to get even more creative, you can design a wall pattern that looks like wallpaper, but is completely painted by hand. Covering up your painted design when you’re ready to make changes is much easier than having to remove wallpaper. You must prime the walls before changing to a new color. Painting a design on the walls is also more affordable than spending the money you would on wallpapering, especially if you can do it yourself.

Don’t be afraid to give it a try. Think of your walls as a blank canvas. If you don’t like it when you’re done, all you have to do is paint over it. It’s really that simple. So, what are you waiting for?
