MLM prospecting is a tough business if you don’t know who you are looking for and what they need to be successful in MLM. And it never fails, over and over again. And again. Like clockwork. You can almost predict it.

How many times have we been talking to someone and they sign up and we all get excited and wait? And we wait. And we wait. And then we wait a little longer for them to show a real interest in this business. And then we keep waiting until we lose heart.

Sounds familiar? What went wrong? How do we screw it up? We spend all that time recruiting them and they don’t do SQUATS! What happened?

HELL Secret:

Sometimes we are more interested in recruiting someone than in qualifying them to see if they really have a chance of success in MLM. Have you ever done that?

HELL Secret:

Cannot PUSH a ROPE. “That dog won’t hunt” is a saying we have here in Dallas. Some “dogs” just never leave the porch when it comes to acting in their life!

Then what do you do? How can you at least maximize your chances of finding people who are “more likely” to take this MLM business seriously than not? Good question!

I was honored to be in the financial services industry before discovering network marketing, and I was fortunate to be the only person in the agency’s history (92 years) to win a fast start award the company had. I worked hard and long hours. But I was shown an amazing secret to defining the right perspectives that made a BIG difference to my success. (Financial services reps are GREAT prospects for this business!)

A multi-million dollar investment income earner gave me what we call the “7 Star Formula” that defined who was more likely to do business with you than not, and I stuck with it and it worked. I brought it into the MLM business with me and lo and behold, it worked great! And now I’ve seen it in other places in the industry as well, so I know it’s had some play on the market. I don’t remember who wrote it, but it’s HOT!

Here it is:

The “7 Star Formula” is the 7 key traits for the best potential MLM prospects you are looking for in a prospect. It can tell you a lot about how this person will work in this business.

HELL Secret:

There is NO safe formula for this, as the secret to success in this business lies in the HEART. But it will help you save a great deal of time that you might have wasted with “Not Likely” to be successful in people.

When you are recruiting people, look for these 7 things, and each one is worth 1 star. Add up the stars after qualifying a prospect, and the higher the number, the better the candidate.

1) 25 years or older.

2) Married.

3) He has a son.

4) You have a full time job.

5) You have a bank account.

6) You own a home.

7) You can afford to invest a little money in your business.

OK – Why these 7 things in particular? Because they show 3 things about the potential customer:

1) Strength in your life

2) Future obligation

3) Strong reasons to improve in life

HELL Secret:

You are looking for the 5, 6 and 7. But if you are talking to a 2 or a 3, well that is your decision as there are broken people who have come into this industry and done amazing things. But they are the exception. Most likely they don’t do much in network marketing.

If someone is 25 years old or older, it has been shown that they have taken MLM more seriously as a future. Yes, I know there are exceptions, and Gen X people are doing this business, but they’re in their 25s anyway.

If they are married, have children, work, own a home and have a bank account, that shows that they are probably MATURE enough to do this MLM business and RESPONSIBLE. These are KEY traits for successful people in a home business.

Rate each prospect you have with this formula and work with the ones 5-6-7 on the scale first, then call the others. You should call everyone you know, as they will at least be willing to help you in some way. But understand: there are potential STARS on your list. Now you know how to define the “Most likely” to be successful which will be really serious for this business. Plus, you now know who is “least likely” to be interested as well.

The names you have on your list are your inventory and you build your success equity in your group with those names. Make sure you choose the “Most Likely” inventory to build equity and success in your group, rather than ending up in utter frustration and discouragement, in MLM Prospecting and MLM Leads.
