I have always loved living in South Florida. I feel the warmth hugging me from morning to night. Untouched by the serious storms of recent years, he has been blessed.

The beaches, the outdoor activities and the weather are very attractive. The travel and moving industry has recovered quite a bit with a large number of new homes and apartment developments in progress. In downtown Delray they have built a new market with fast food sections of all kinds. There is talk that they are building a shopping center and several new office buildings.

I always liked Palm Beach. All the stores have reopened and living here during this pandemic has taken a renewed breather.

Delray Beach is one of the places I spend most of my time. It has the flavor of New Orleans and you can hear music in stores and restaurants, even in the candy store. Sometimes we find ourselves dancing in the streets.

A good friend of mine, a real estate agent, is working overtime, Northerners, Californians, and many from the Midwest are rumored to be moving here at record speeds.

When dining at Delray, especially on holidays and events, it’s where you want to be. Full of characters of all kinds, at one point, the streets have happy and colorful people dancing or walking.

Dining at Sazio’s we watched the parade of people from a table by the window. We could see passersby looking at the great salads and other Italian dishes enjoyed by families and couples dining near us. One of the girls that her mother was holding almost fell when she turned to look at one of the pizzas that had just been presented.

The chefs at Delray, Sazio are known as creative artists.

Chef Monica made our favorite dish, the steak salad, which made our mouths water. Although all the cooks at Sazio are good, it is always a pleasure to dine there when Monica is in the kitchen. When the bartender brought cocktails to dinners sitting outside, the hostess started to line up and we were glad we arrived early enough to get our table.

Once again, many flocked to the main street restaurants. People everywhere look forward to vacations in our great state. I could see the heavy flow of traffic piling up on our roads. The storage company I use told me that they, like many others, are fully rented.

I had tried to get some moving men the month before for some furniture that I was buying from a neighbor and they were so busy that I had to wait over two weeks.

Before we knew it, our waiter was heading our way. We quickly pushed our drinks aside as he set our plates in front of us.

The juicy steak and portobello mushrooms stood out on the outside of the salad, with red pepper, cheeses and assorted vegetables, it called us. We quickly poured in our lime and balsamic dressings and got down to business. The various flavors danced around my mouth. I can honestly say that I am always happy when my date chooses Sazio in Delray. The couple at the table across the road were talking about the salt scrub in the ladies’ room and how their hands felt so soft. I leaned in to see the large plates the waitress had left on her table, they were delicious and as much as I enjoyed our dishes.

“Maybe we could order those dishes”,

I whispered silently nodding towards the nearby table.

“next time.”

Delray dinners, especially at restaurants like Sazio, are rarely disappointing, that’s for sure. And you can get there by car, bus, train and even by tram.
