Public transport in Stockholm
Metro, bus, regional and suburban rail services, light rail, tram and boats from the archipelago are in operation in the city. Storstockholms Lokaltrafik organizes train and bus services and is owned by the Stockholm City Council. Contractors are responsible for field operations contracted by the council. An example is the handling of boat traffic by Waxholmsbolaget. Similarly, Flygbussarana provides the bus services and Arlanda Express provides the train service.
Stockholm bus
A large number of bus lines are available in Stockholm Count. Inner City Blue Lines, Suburban Blue Lines, and Service Bus Lines are the categories available. Using the trunk line variants in the city center running through the larger parts of Stockholm and in the suburban variant assuming the role of power lines for transportation, the blue bus are the main bus services in and around the town. The service bus lines are adapted to the needs of the elderly and normally operate in residential areas.
Stockholm Underground
The Stockholm metro, which consists of three groups of lines, known as the singular line, has three categories, blue, red and green lines. The blue line runs from Kungstrdgarded to Jijulst / Akalla, the red line from Norsborg / Fruangen to Ropsten / Morby centurm and the green line from Akeshove / Alvik and Hasselby strand to Skarpnack / Farasts /.
Suburban rail system
Roslagsbanan which runs on narrow gauge and two others on broad gauge are Stockholm’s suburban railway system. In total, eight lines are used for the operation of suburban trains.
Inter City trains
Running on the main line from Stockholm to other cities outside the country such as Gavle, Linkoping, Vasteras, Uppasal and Eskilstuna, train travel is regulated by SJ. Special combination tickets called TiM combining SJ and SL are also provided to travelers.
Tram and light rails
A heritage tram line called Djurgården is in operation. The cars are owned by the Swedish Tram Company, but the infrastructure belongs to SL. In addition to tram services, there are also three light rail lines, namely Nockeby-Alvik; Ropsten-Gashaga brygga and Sickla udde – Alvik.
With so many options available, a visitor will normally not find it difficult to sightsee in Stockholm.
